Very Large Puhoi/Ahuroa Subdivision Public Meeting THIS TUESDAY

Hello Grapevine

This coming Tuesday the 27th of September from 5pm to 7pm there will be a public meeting at the Puhoi Sports Club to provide residents with information about the very large subdivision proposed for our area. Staff from Beca (the consultancy who have developed the proposal on behalf of the owners API) will also engage in a Q+A session on any topics related to the subdivision.

Please come along to get yourselves informed and to find out how it will affect our area.

Asia Pacific International (API) are planning to develop a very large subdivision on old Carter Holt forestry land from Puhoi to the north and west, bounded by SH1, Ahuroa Road and stretching well beyond Moirs Hill Road.

The proposal is to create 207 housing lots over an area of 1,300 hectares (3,200 acres).

A resource consent application has recently been notified by Auckland Council so there is a window of opportunity for residents to make submissions in order to change, limit, improve or otherwise alter the proposal.

This information and Q+A session provides an opportunity for residents to be informed about the proposed development, and to help you decide whether you wish to make a submission on the resource consent. The closing date for submissions is 5pm, Monday 10th October, so it’s not far away.

This link takes you to the Council website where all the documentation for the resource consent is available http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/ratesbuildingproperty/consents/getinvolved/Pages/currentpubliclynotifiedconsents.aspx

Following the public meeting, the Puhoi Community Forum will meet at its normal time of 7.30pm, and this proposal is on the agenda to discuss for those who wish to stay on and contribute.

Puhoi Subdivision Link

Hello

I got some emails back from the grapevine asking for the link on the Council website to the subdivision consent. I have now searched too and it’s not yet there. I have emailed the Council contact on the letter I got to ask why.

I’ll post again when I hear back, but in the meantime keep checking the Council site – I assume it will pop up soon.

Cheers

A very large subdivision – resource consent notification

Hello Grapevine

I got a letter from the Council in the mail today regarding a truly massive subdivision in Puhoi/Moirs/Ahuroa East area, which is at the resource consent stage. The letter was notifying affected residents of the resource consent that has been lodged by Asia Pacific International.

I attach an outline map of the areas and it is a large amount of the previous Carter Holt forestry area – 1300ha(!!) in this case, and proposes 207 rural residential lots. It stretches from the village and is bounded by Ahuroa Road, SH1 and to the north goes well past Moirs Hill Road.

I am sending this through as the deadline for submissions on this is 10th October, just under a month away, and the more notice that can be provided to residents who may wish to submit, the better.

The application numbers for the consents are SLC 66696, REG 66698, REG 66699 and the consent can be viewed on the council website by searching for current publicly notified applications.

The days of this neck of the woods being quiet, small scale rural settlements are well and truly ending….

Kind regards
