!! Warning: Cattle almost shot on Wech Access Rd !!

Hi everyone

This is an email to alert you all to be vigilant as early this morning a man was seen about to shoot a cow in a paddock on Wech Access.

He was startled as he was lining up to take the shot so he fled with his partner in a light coloured hatchback car.

This happened around 3:30am. Please take care and alert the police or your neighbors of any dodgy activity. Try and get a number plate if possible.

Cheers
Jo Bullock

Christmas time – time to stay vigilant.

Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas from the team here at the Grapevine.Just a reminder that as Christmas rolls around, this time of year is particularly important for us to stay vigilant, keep your eyes open on behalf of yourselves and all of our neighbours for any odd, suspicious activity. If you do see something, slow down, stop, take note of things, number plates; photos etc if you can, then be sure to report it to the police. Call 111 for all police matters, they will direct you as appropriate. http://www.police.govt.nz/contact-us/how-report-crime – If you would prefer to offer information anonymously, you can do this through the Crime stoppers: 0800 555 111 -or- https://www.crimestoppers-nz.org

We still have some Rural Neighbourhood support signs available if anyone would like to erect some fresh signage anywhere in the area? – Reply to this email and let me know if you want one. This time of year does tend to attract more problems, so we’ve got to look out for one another.

It’s also a good time to drop in on any elderly neighbours and check in on them, make sure that they’re ok. It can be a lonely time for those who have lost loved ones, and perhaps the offer of some company or for them to join in some of your plans might go a very long way. 🙂

If you’re planning on taking a trip away from home for an extended period of time, it helps to let your trusted neighbours know of your plans so that they can keep a closer eye on your property for you.

Stay safe everyone, and have a really good holiday period!

Your Ahuroa Grapevine team.
