Ahuroa School – Cleaner

Ahuroa School is currently looking for another wonderful cleaner to replace our magnificent Margaret who, after 30 years of dedicated service, has decided to call it a day.

The position is for approximately 1 1/2 hours per day, with negotiable times. Holidays tend to be a bit different with a full day or so to do some thorough cleaning. (15 hours per fortnight)

If you are a Passionate, Resilient, Authentic, Explorer who would like to join our team, please give Christine a call at the office to make a time to see what the job is all about.

Ahuroa Community School and Hall Fundraiser

Happy New Year to everybody in the Ahuroa Community

The Ahuroa Community Hall and School Fundraiser is coming up on the weekend of the 24th and 25th February – an organised horse trek through several local privately owned farms.  Horsey types ( 😊 ) from all over the north are apparently pretty excited!

This is a great opportunity to raise some funds for special upcoming projects for the hall and school.  The bonus is that we don’t need a huge amount of people power to make it happen (yay), but we DO need food donations (and a little help in the kitchen) to make it work, as we will be feeding approximately 40-50 people x 4 meals.

The more food we are able to get donated, the less it will cost to run, so I’m hoping that a whole lot of our Ahuroa community will get behind this and donate generously.

We are looking at a range of food to help put on a continental breakfast, filled rolls and baking for lunch, and a spit roast and buffet style dinner – a comprehensive list is below.

A donation could be as simple as a New World Gift Card, putting a couple of cans of food in your letterbox, donating some excess cucumbers from your garden, or as complicated as making a yummy chocolate brownie –  so not too much effort required at all, and every bit will be appreciated.

Here’s the list of items we would love to have donated:

Ahuroa School Community Help Desperately needed.

Hi wonderful community,

Please can you help me out. We have had a spate of vandalism at the school. From bottles and nappies in the pool to concrete being poured on our multipurpose turf. Today we had some bottles broken in our driveway.

If you know who is responsible for this senseless damage, please let me know or better still let the police know.

It is pretty hard to keep our fabulous little school looking great at the best of times, let alone once we have vandals mucking around. Every time we need to spend time and money on this it takes something away from our lovely kids.

If you are driving past the school and notice anything untoward, please take some photos, or number plates  and send it through to me at [email protected]

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Michelle Nell
