Dairy Goat for rehoming

Lottie – our saanen/nubian cross needs a home for retirement. She is 9 years old. I have hand milked her for many years and some of her daughters too. She is in kid to a saanen/Alpine cross buck and is due to kid on 18th September. She will have twins and if does will be great for milking in a couple of years. Lottie will also be able to be milked this year but her milk production is less than it used to be so she would have to be fed extremely well. She will feed 2 kids easily and she is a great mother.

I am rehoming her because I need to reduce the size of my domestic herd. Lottie was born on this farm and is in good health although she no longer has any front teeth which means she needs longer grass to eat (she can’t nibble at sheep length grass) – she needs a slower lifestyle now. She is very friendly – easy to handle and has never needed assistance with kidding. She had triplets the first couple of kiddings but seems to have twins now and looks like having twins this year too. With good care she may keep breeding for another couple of years.
