Hi wonderful community,
Please can you help me out. We have had a spate of vandalism at the school. From bottles and nappies in the pool to concrete being poured on our multipurpose turf. Today we had some bottles broken in our driveway.
If you know who is responsible for this senseless damage, please let me know or better still let the police know.
It is pretty hard to keep our fabulous little school looking great at the best of times, let alone once we have vandals mucking around. Every time we need to spend time and money on this it takes something away from our lovely kids.
If you are driving past the school and notice anything untoward, please take some photos, or number plates and send it through to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Ahuroa neighbours,
Would anyone have a Nait reader I could borrow for an afternoon? I have some mature cows that won’t let me look in their eyes safely and need to update my Nait account. Happy to pay in beer or wine

Most of you know me as the Ahuroa Grapevine administrator, some of you know me personally. This note is more to those who know me, but everyone is welcome to respond.
I’m seeking support for my application to become an independent marriage celebrant. – In order for my application to be successful it needs to fulfil the following criteria:
To become a celebrant, I need to show that:
- I’m of good character
- I’ll conscientiously perform the duties of a celebrant, and
- making me a celebrant is in the interest of my community or the general public.
To show this, when I apply I need:
- at least 4 letters of support from people in my community
- 2 referees to complete the Good character form
- a copy of your criminal conviction history.
(I can take care of the last two of those, I need some assistance with the first one)… If you would like to come act in support of me doing this, then I would welcome your help please.
Without telling you what to write, I would ask that if you want to provide a letter of support for me, then you might write a formal letter, with your details appropriately provided at the top, dated, and addressed ‘To whom it may concern,’.
You might like to include some personal indications as to why you feel I might do a reasonable job, you might like to reflect on some of the community based work / effort I have put in, both in terms of the Grapevine, and perhaps also my ability to commit to, and see things through (such as the internet supply commissioning through Stratanet etc).??
Anyway, I’m hoping that I might be able to find some support for this (x4). If you would like to help me, then please consider sending me a letter of support which you would be happy for me to use, please either email it to me (in Word Document format, signed to email@example.com – or print it and drop it off to me at 57 Martin Access Rd.
Thank you very much in advance, regards,
Chris Wiltshire, your Ahuroa Grapevine Admin…
Does anyone know of anyone locally who can unblock culverts?
We have a large culvert pipe which normally takes the full flow of our stream which is blocked with silt and other debris from all this rain we have been getting. This is causing the stream to be permanently overtopping the culvert crossing.
The culvert inflow is under about a metre and a half or so of fast moving water & so quite difficult to access to clear.
Is there anyone who can tackle this sort of job? I need to use the culvert crossing for livestock.

The Ahuroa Hall is running a fundraising event out at the Matakana Country park. It is a show jumping event and we have already found many people to help but would really love it if there were a couple more volunteers who can come help us sell sausages, pick up poles etc etc.
The event starts at 9am and is meant to be a fun training day for locals and non locals. The event is kindly being sponsored by Ahuroa Feeds and if you would like more information check out the Ahuroa Feed Show Jumping event on Facebook.
Please call either Christine Bullock on 4225598 or Jo Bullock on 099733687 if you can help.
