Your own Ahuroa Family Legacy

For just $200 you can have the opportunity to create your own family legacy at Ahuroa while supporting our school.  We are offering our families and community the opportunity to ‘purchase a seat’ as part of our PTFA project to get the tiered seating around our sports court finally finished!

Just choose your seat (position and colour) and we will ensure your family name is clearly and tastefully displayed on a plaque for all future Ahuroa families to view.

WE HAVE ONLY TWO SEATS LEFT – SO PLEASE BE QUICK!!

Many thanks to the following families for pledging their support:

Mathers
Jenkins
Bullock
Uys
Berger
Gibson
Meyer
Slater

Just letting you know that we are all good to go today.  Bring your gumboots and some cash and come along and enjoy a great community morning!  We’re kicking off at 9am and will be done and dusted by 1pm. We’re based from the Hall and Hall carpark this year due to our wet field.  Our Hall will be full of indoor exhibits, Farmers Markets stalls and our huge bake sale.  As well as BBQ lunch, tea and coffee will also be available. (No EFTPOS).  The car park will host our outdoor exhibits, all animal and garden judging and our updated Young Farmers Competition.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Photography Exhibition Robotics Workshops

Hi all

We’d like to invite you to the opening of our photography exhibition being held at the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa tomorrow 3 September at 3pm.  If you had the opportunity to catch our previous exhibitions, you’ll know it will be well worth the trip!  Community feedback has already been fantastic.  The exhibition runs until 25 September.

Ahuroa School Seeking Photos

PHOTOS: We are URGENTLY seeking photos of our local “older generation” from their younger days to display during our photography exhibition, InstaGran, which is being held at the Estuary Arts Gallery during September. Images need to be in digital format (we are happy to scan photos for you and will provide you with a copy of the digital file/s.)   You may have seen our project featured in the Rodney Times recently. Please contact Theressa Butler directly if you can help: [email protected]

BEFORE and AFTER SCHOOL CARE: Thanks to a funding grant from Sky City Community Trust we are very excited to be able to offer all working families in our community before and after school care at a significantly reduced rate.  We can offer FREE before school care (7.30-8.00am) and $5 after school care until 4.30pm (including afternoon tea!).

ROBOTICS: Every Friday we run an after school Robotics Club from 2.30-4.30pm.  All primary and intermediate aged children are welcome to attend.  $65 for 8 workshops, or causal rate of $10 per workshop. Afternoon Tea is provided.  Please contact Theressa Butler to book: [email protected].

AG DAY: Just a reminder that we are opening up our 2016 Ag Day to all primary and intermediate aged kids in our community.  For more details please contact [email protected]. If you would like to book a table for a market stall (fresh produce, handmade arts and craft) please also let us know.  There is a small change of $20 per table, however stallholders retain all profit.

POOL KEYS: We do not think we need to say that the swimming season is now over (although there is plenty of water around if you are keen). Pool keys need to be returned to the school office asap. Keys need to be recut for our next season (now there’s a happy thought!). The cost of an unreturned key is $50.

Don’t forget – we have an open door policy at Ahuroa School, please feel free to pop in any time.

Warmest Regards

Michelle
