Dear community,

Today sees the start of our building project. Hopefully as you drive past you will see lots of action and the preparation works for demolition.  We know that there will be some disruption to the community with trucks and cranes and a lot more cars at the hall, however we will try to minimise the impact of this as much as possible, and thank everyone in advance for their patience during this exciting time for our fabulous school.

The programme that we have tentatively put in place looks like this:

This week- 13-19th January – Temporary fencing up. Temporary toilet block in place, drainage works to prep for water tank and toilet block, prep work for demolition.

Next week – 20-27th January – Demolition works. This includes the demolition of our asbestos clad classroom. We have been advised that this will not impact on the availability of the swimming pool. However, please be advised that all school buildings are out of action. The temporary toilet block, which will be for use of the pool users too, will be placed on the field and needs to be accessed via the outdoor classroom only.

Last week of January: Preparation begins for the new buildings, i.e breaking concrete, building retaining walls, etc. This will take about 6 weeks.

We hope that by the first week of March we will be in a position to let you know when the new buildings will be arriving. They will come in the dead of the night and be hoisted onto their footings with a massive crane.

I will keep you as informed of the process along the way.
