Potentially available workers…

Hi all

I get WOOFers (Work On Organic Farm) from time to time who work on the farm for 4 to 5 hours a day, 6 days a week. I feed and accommodate them. Typically they are German, although recently I have had people from Japan, Singapore, France and Canada. They are usually in the age range of 18 to 25 and want to stay from 1 week to 2 months. They are usually unskilled however the last German and French guys have built a nursery and the irrigation system around the farm. Not bad returns when the costs are just power and food.

I am turning down at least 2 WOOFers a week now as I am full up, so if anyone out there needs them let me know and I can send them your way.

Register your house for Halloween Trick or Treating

As parents we know how difficult to get around with the kids on Halloween evening and finding a house in the Ahuroa area that actually does participate in Halloween. 

So to avoid any awkward moments when the kids asks “Trick or Treat” and there is nothing but a handful of onions or Brussel sprouts, I’ve set up a form so you can register your house as a participant.

Just because its a form doesn’t mean you have to fill it out, it’s just making life easier for the parents being the taxi for the kids know which house to go to. If you don’t want to take part, just ignore this message and enjoy the evening anyway.

The list will be sent out on Sunday 29th October so register before then. If know one registers, then just head to Warkworth and raid those streets.

General safety notice

There is a white 4×4 vehicle that has been involved in a crash incident and the vehicle is now situated just opposite house #1159 Ahuroa Road.

The owner is arranging for a tow truck to collect as it is not driveable and both airbags have gone off – this may not be until Thursday/Friday.Thank you.
