Sadly Brian, our trusty caretaker, has decided that the farm is in need of more attention so he needs to wave us goodbye. His work ethic and initiative will be sadly missed and we of course wish him and his family all the very best.

Caretaker Position:
Ahuroa School has a part time position as school caretaker commencing the week of Tuesday 27 October 2020.
This position is for 5 hours per week, (times and day negotiable).

We are looking for a reliable, energetic Caretaker for our school. The position involves carrying out a wide range of duties to help us ensure that our school is maintained as an attractive, clean, safe and secure environment. The successful applicant will be required to identify hazards and address general repairs and maintenance of buildings. You will also be responsible for the school swimming pool complex, garden maintenance plus regular monitoring of the bore water plant. This position requires a pro­active, positive reliable person who is able to work alongside staff and pupils in a busy school environment.

The successful candidate will have a clean police record, full driver’s licence, excellent health, excellent time management skills, flexibility and a willingness to learn and have basic handyman skills to carry out repairs and maintenance.

Wanted: workers – Puhoi River Canoe Hire

Puhoi River Canoe Hire is looking for a range of people who can work weekends and weekdays, preferably local. Our season starts in September and our busiest months are December through to late March. They would be employed on a casual basis. Applicants must have good communication skills, be reliable and prepared to work public holidays. They must be strong and fit as there is lifting involved. We are looking for some new staff to help our wonderful school grow even better in 2018.

Our recent ERO review identified our school as a vibrant, dynamic, caring environment where everyone is encouraged to be their best.

Job 1 – Teacher-aide – 25 hours per week, full year
Job 2 – Teacher -aide – 5 hours per week, term by term.
Job 3 – Caretaker – 5 hours per week.

I am needing an extra pair of hands ASAP to help install some windows and for various other building jobs on my site at Ahuroa Valley . Experience in carpentry would be a bonus but not necessary.

I would prefer someone local but if anyone knows of someone willing to travel here that would be great.
Part time or full time hours okay. Payment negotiable.
